The 1806 fairytale The Elves and the Shoemaker is about a poor shoemaker and his wife who received much-needed help from elves. How cool is that?! The shoemaker was down to his last piece of leather, barely making ends meet, when low and behold, voilà! Enter stage left, the elves!nbsp; Each night he would cut the leather to make new shoes by day. To his amazement, one night while he was sleeping, two adorable elves slipped in through the window and made the shoes. He then took the shoes to the market and sold them for a reasonable price. The visitations continued, eventually taking the shoemaker and his wife from barely surviving to thrive.nbsp; Most people would retort; This is a beautiful children's story, but how could it be relevant and practical in my life? I don't have elves sneaking in my house doing my work for me! I'm working my tail off by day to make ends meet, precisely like the shoemaker! Well, my friends, what if I were to tell you that you have a team of" elves" working on your behalf 24/7?nbsp; No way you say! Yes, way!!!!! nbsp;Once you learn to tune into their presence, get clear, and align with your desires, the world is your oyster. It is important to note that the shoemaker did his part in the creation process. He bought and cut the leather, and when the shoes were ready, he sold them at the market. He and his wife were grateful and made the elves' clothes. There was a flow between them, a collaboration. For me, a lot of good ideas come in the shower. Today I received the idea for this newsletter. My part in the partnership is to write and share it. How fun is that?! nbsp;Our guides and helpers do not need clothes like elves, but they most certainly enjoy gratitude and appreciation. Treat them as if they are your best friend and confidant, as in reality, they indeed are. The hard part is that for most of us, we do not see them. It's not like going to get a 'Cup a Joe' with your best friend. Just know they are always there, ready to help, advise, and guide, taking us from surviving to thriving if we are willing.nbsp; nbsp;The shoemaker and his wife suspended their disbelief and allowed the prosperity to flow through them.nbsp; nbsp;They did not know how the shoes appeared each morning; they did their part and allowed it. So often we stop our flow. Each of those shoes was a gift from the elves, and they were grateful.nbsp; nbsp;Everything we have is a gift from Spirit. Feel that one and experience what a game-changer it is. nbsp;When I truly realized this, I recognized I took SO much for granted! From food and clean water in my pipes to my home and everything in it, including my shoes! My life and every breath I breathe is a gift. This realization brought me down to the nitty-gritty, grounding me in the gifts of everyday life. EVERYTHING IS A GIFT!
