Is "Having It All" A Possibility For You?

I came across a video whose intention was to inspire. I align with that aspiration, yet after watching it, I felt a combination of inspiration and conflict. I have included the link below in the section typically for Inspired Music, but today, it will be Perspectives From An External Source. In one portion of the video it states “What are you going to give up to get where you want to go, because you can’t have it all.”

Who said so and why?

What does ‘have it all’ really mean? Is it the same for everyone?

Doesn't the very definition of having it all mean you don't have to give anything up?

There have been many times in my life where I have felt like I have had it all. There have also been many times I have felt like I didn’t. Yet, even in times I was unhappy, I found many, many things to be grateful for which brought my perspective back around.

She also says “Balance? It’s a myth.”

Again, what is balance?

Does everyone have the same definition?

What makes it a myth?

There is no way I can declare the truth of either of those two concepts for anyone else but myself. Blanket statements like that simply don’t work for me. Personally, I do believe that balance exists and I set my intention to nurture my internal balance daily. One avenue is meditation, in whatever form works for you. It could be it sitting quietly or walking on the beach, as long as your goal is to facilitate a quiet awareness and invite your internal wisdom to come forth. Balance in my external world is allotting time for rest, work, play, new adventures, and experiences.

So the deeper question I come to you with today is; What does ‘having it all’ mean to you and what steps can you take to get yourself closer to it?  If you happen to believe you can’t have it all, then I invite you to explore that belief and determine if it is really true, that you can know this 100%, without even one iota of a doubt. Here, doubt is your ally, asking you to look deeper than conventional “wisdom”, to discover the Truth. For if you define “having it all,’  and make it achievable for you, why can’t you have it? Define what you want and go for it. Let your heart be your guide. That’s where the wisdom resides.
